Preschool pictures

The girls are about to begin their final month of preschool. I can't believe they are headed to kindergarten in the fall. I am going to miss these sweet girls come August!

I went on their 2nd field trip with them on Tuesday... this time to a park. And it was to a park that we frequent often. Oh well... They still had a great time playing with all their friends and having a picnic lunch.

Here are the "Zany Zebras" this year. The girls have been with most of them since they were three and nobody is going to their elementary school. So sad! The girls will miss all their friends, but hopefully we will keep in touch with some of them.

This is from their field trip earlier this year... riding the big bus. One of the other moms in the girls' class was so nice to send me the rest of these.

Proof they washed their hands after Petco before the pizza. Whew!

I think this is from their Christmas party.

Time to eat!

There were 2 1/2 sets of twins (one pair was split between 2 classes) in their class this year. So 5 out of 15 kids were twins, that's 33%!

Some of the kids at a birthday party a few weeks ago.

Time is flying by so fast! Sometimes I just wish it would slow down a little bit... Have a great weekend!

New bikes

For the girl's birthday, my dad had sent some money for the girls to choose a gift. They finally picked out what they wanted.

New bikes!

I took them around the lake in our neighborhood for the first time today. Overall they did pretty well. I really didn't have to push the bikes very much.

We stopped to feed the ducks.

Then to look at the flowers.

Then to take a rest.

Then to look at more ducks and turtles.

Then another break.

Hmmm... maybe this is break #7?

Break #10.

A small mishap with the bike - no tears involved.

Chasing the ducks.

Looking at a baby turtle.

Break #192. Ok, not really. Seemed like it.

Finally back at home and all sweaty. Thanks grandpa for the new bikes!

Oh, and my doctor's appointment this morning went well. My blood pressure was high - 155/83 which I am contributing to nervousness about being admitted into the hospital. I was up last night with horrible stomach pains, and I had visions of bedrest or being in the hospital. Thankfully everything looked well and baby boy is still cooking! He needs to stay put atleast for another few weeks!

One more month

One more month to go. I am definitely feeling pregnant these days. It's hard to believe at this time last pregnancy, my beautiful girls were already here. Which is why I can deal with another month of being pregnant. There is nothing worse than going home from the hospital without your babies. I really do like being pregnant - it's amazing to feel a little life inside you, but I am definitely ready for the next phase! My blood pressure has been a bit high and I've had quite a few contractions - more so of the braxton hicks I think. We'll see what the doctor says this week. I am really tired - hence the reason for not updating this blog as much as I'd like.

I still feel slightly unprepared. James and I can't finalize the whole name thing. The names keep coming back to Evan and Cole. Also Colton and Travis. Although with Colton and Travis it might seem like too much University of Texas - you may have heard of the Longhorn QB Colt McCoy and then Travis County is where I think Austin is located. So even though we like those names, it might be too extreme, especially for a Texas Tech gal :) I told James maybe we just need to see the baby before we name him. He told me you do that with pets, not with kids, and he needs to have a name before we go to the hospital - ha! I picture Evan to be more of a blonde hair/blue eyed kid (like Austin) and Cole to be a darker hair and eyes kind of kid (like the girls).

There are still several things that I need to buy also - like a bassinet, boppy, bottles (just in case the whole nursing thing doesn't work out - hopefully it will), etc. I need to work on a list and get some shopping done.

I have hardly taken any pictures the last several weeks.

It must seem like my kids get their face painted every weekend - ha! I promise they really don't. This is Abby from a birthday party on Saturday. Our weekends have been full of soccer and parties the last several weeks.

One of the girls got some state flash cards in a party bag that Austin adores. He's been working on memorizing all the state capitals, and all the kids are drawing every state's bird. Thankfully a lot of states share the same state bird - like apparently the cardinal (Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia). You'd think every state would have it's own original bird. And you'd think that Missouri and Arizona who both have Cardinal sports teams would have that as their state bird. Quite silly if you ask me. So there's a bit of trivia information for you this Monday morning. Have a great week :)

Bluebonnet pictures!

Ahhhh... spring in Texas... which means the time for our annual bluebonnet photo shoot. We ventured out today to the Brenham area and then to the Chappell Hill Bluebonnet Festival.

I think this was our money shot for the day. Although it was hard to choose this exact shot... the kiddos were really good today.

Maybe this is better? Emily has a sweet look on her face. Thinking about ice cream, I'm sure.

Here are the kiddos in a field of weeds. For some reason, the picturesque place we went to last year was seriously lacking bluebonnets. Perhaps someone mowed when/where they shouldn't have?

The only flowers in the shot can be found on Abby's shirt. Hmm...

This cracks me up. You can always tell what kind of mood Abby is in based on her facial expression.

"Hey Smiley - turn that frown upside down and get in the picture!"

"Must. Keep. Smiling. Face. Feels. Numb."

"Bees!" Not really, it was pretty uneventful with no real problems with ants, bees and snakes. Whew.

The kids loved playing in these yellow flowers. Mental note: pick up some Claritin.

Can you spot Austin? These flowers went on for acres and acres.

Here's Abby with a handful of Austin's rear. We had to get pretty creative keeping the kiddos interested.

After the pictures, we headed to Chappell Hill. I wasn't sure what to expect. It was basically a big craft fair with lots of food - we would have stayed longer without the kids to shop around.

We gave the kids an option of riding one of the rides or getting their faces painted. This is what they chose...

Of course all these pictures were not possible without a small bribe at the end of our adventure...

Our blue-eyed boy in his blue shirt eating blue ice cream - after playing in bluebonnets.

Other than the bluebonnets today, we've had a fun weekend full of soccer and birthday parties. Austin had a roller skating party yesterday that I wish I would have remembered my camera for. I haven't laughed so hard in a while. Austin tried his hardest to skate, but eventually I had to buy one of those "walkers" to assist him on the rink. It brought back memories... we'll have to visit it one day this summer. Hope you all have a great week!
